Animal photography is a very rewarding field, and sometimes it takes a long time to get a perfect picture, because they are moving around and some are really energetic. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="

Okay, let’s get down to it! You have said in your artist comment, that you want us to take a look at quality, technique, and creativity, and that is what I will put most weight on in this critique.
One of the most attractive aspects of your photo is the composition and the subjects. They look like brothers – this brings out some.. Happiness in me. I can’t help but smile. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title=" (Big Grin)"/>Your choice of colours is very good, because I feel like the noses match the background, and though the background and colour-scheme is very simple, that might actually be a very strong feature. The camera has been able to catch some texture in the “floor” and the transition from “floor” to “wall” is very well executed. I don’t know how you did it; do you have a “studio” of some sort? <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/e/e…" width="15" height="15" alt="
" title=" (Eek)"/>The detail of the picture is excellent. I do wish that the picture was larger than 700px wide, though. Maybe it will be suitable with 800px or 900px, so you can really see the detail!
If I had to take this picture, I might have moved the tail of the left guinea-pig so it wasn’t visible in the frame. This would bring out some more symmetry (at least I think it’s the tail). As far as positioning the guinea-pigs, I don’t think I would have done it any different than you. I am looking for ways to bring out more symmetry, but as far as I can see, the markings on each of the subjects are asymmetrical, which means that I cannot choose which guinea-pig I want in centre. Have you thought about the positioning of the animals or did you do it by random?
I do feel like I have seen this sort of photography before; in particular this photo reminds me of *lieveheersbeestje’s guinea-pig-photos. I am sure, you know this artist – I respect her a lot, and I look up to her. When you said you wanted critique on “creativity”, I think that is what deviantART calls “originality”, so what I wrote above is the reason the score is below average. I would have loved a guinea-pig-tower where you could place them on top of each other – see that I haven’t seen! I’m sure it will not even be possible to do; they would probably fall down or refuse to remain in their place. I wouldn’t want them to fall. " title=" (Smile)"/>The animal to the left has a very clear brown mark on its left front leg. It’s really charming, and you know what? I am glad it’s there! It adds some more “POW” to the picture, because if it hadn’t been there, the three animals would be very similar and the colour-scheme would then (in my opinion) be too simple.
